Lintons College Of Beauty Launches Lintons Foundation During Their 2nd Graduation Ceremony

Lintons College of Beauty held its 2nd graduation ceremony at Movenpick hotel and residence.
Lintons Foundation seeks to empower marginalized youth, refugees, and the vulnerable from the informal settlements with a vision of championing quality training and dignified work through advocacy and partnerships with like-minded organizations and governments.
It is the brainchild of Dr. Joyce Gikunda, a leading entrepreneur in Kenya, who has consistently sponsored youth to colleges to provide them opportunities for quality training and dignified livelihood.

The guest of honor was Maureen Murunga the current at L’Oréal Kenya. She has extensive experience in the beauty industry and is the founder of the Amadiva salon franchise.

In her speech, Dr. Joyce said “I have had the passion of creating dignified jobs for young people. There was a great need for professionally trained individuals to work for the growing business. The foundation will give opportunities to disadvantaged youth in Kenya who are determined to launch their careers in beauty. I have since sponsored some of them but there is still a need to open up the opportunity. The foundation seeks to partner with like-minded organizations and governments to create more opportunities for more young people.

‘’We have partnered with Zero Street foundation. We have since sponsored six girls who got enrolled at Lintons College of Beauty and some are working in our shops. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, we are determined to create dignified jobs for fellow Kenyans, end poverty in all its forms everywhere, ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
We are grateful to Danish Refugee Council (DRC) who have since sponsored twelve students to Lintons Beauty College to pursue a Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Ngong Road Children’s home has also sponsored students at our college.”

Dr. Joyce concluded her speech by inviting sponsors, partnerships, and donors to join the Lintons Foundation vision and help change more lives. She congratulated the graduates and wished them the very best in their professional careers.
Other guests included MD Lintons Beauty World Denis Gikunda, Founder and director of Zero Street Foundation Peter Ndiboe, Ogle Abdirashid Dubow from Danish Refugee Council, and Joy Obiya from Ngong Road children’s home.
