Dr. Joyce Gikunda
Dr. Gikunda is a certified cosmetologist and pharmacist with a B. Pharm (Hons) from University of Nairobi. She worked with the Ministry of Health in Kenya for nearly 10 years leading various pharmaceutical units. She is a founder member of Cosmetology Society of Kenya, member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya, Ex Member Board of Management, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), a board member of several schools. In 2018 she was named “Businesswoman of the Year” finalist in the CNBC-Africa All Africa Business Leaders Awards. She is recognized as a mentor and role model to many beauty professionals, influencers and entrepreneurs.
Dr. Joyce firmly believes that everyone possesses beauty; done the right way, beauty will lift any man or woman’s self-esteem and unlock their potential. She has been a leading advocate against skin bleaching creams and mercury based cosmetics. Equally, she recognizes that counterfeit cosmetics and poor customer discernment surrounding their supply are a growing industry concern. Her passion for advancement of the industry led her to launch Lintons Academy; an accredited training institution. The Academy aims to strengthen the beauty industry’s talent supply through tailored and hands-on programs, uplifting “beauty” as a high-potential career pathway for youth and women at scale.
